Our Adoption Journey

Shopping Day.

Today we went shopping. All the families got a small bus and rode 30 miles to a town called Bat Thrang. The town is dominated by ceramic craftsmen. All the shops in this town sell the different ceramics. Hanna found a very beautiful tea set. We have been playing tea party all day. We came back to the Hotel and then the four of us went down to the "Old Town District." This area of Hanoi has streets that are set up to sell a certain product. We saw products like childrens toys, sinks and toilets, welders, party supplies, sporting goods, silver, and silk. We walked on the side walks where possible and if there was no room you walk on the street with the mopeds. Pictures and words can not describe the number of mopeds moving on the streets. It is like a river that never stops! We bought Hanna and Haden some traditional outfits and I will have some pictures tomorrow with them modeling.

Aside from getting her new brother Hanna is getting such a great lesson in how much of the rest of the world really lives. Usually when we realize how truly blessed we are it is a very humbling experience. It sounds so wonderful to hear "the 4 of us" now. Actually this time together in Vietnam gives your family such a wonderful time of bonding-and time to appreciate just each other as a family unit. You know when you return to the USA numerous friends and family from many states will want to see all of you but especially Hanna and Haden. We look forward to tomorrow's pictures with Hanna and Haden modeling their native dress.
Love and Godspeed

Hi everyone. Looks like you are having a very interesting journey. This is something you will remember the rest of your lives so enjoy it. Haden, is a little doll. He will be a lot of fun. He looks like a very happy and pleasant natured baby. My girls were 6 and 8 when Melissa was born. They were like little mothers to her and to this day she is still their pet. They also wanted a baby really bad and were delighted when they got one.

I know Barbara and Laverne are very excited to have a new baby in the family. Maybe when you all are going to be at your mother's we could come down.

Hope everyone is well. Stay safe and enjoy this adventure.

Love,
Aunt Stephanie & Uncle Jr

P.S. Whitney, is home to stay. She is going to community college this next semester.

What an awesome adventure! We can't wait to hear all of your stories. We hit in the 70's today in NH and everybody is going crazy. They're wondering if we'll ever see snow up here. Woo Hoo! Jim was giving me a geography lesson today on where you guys are. I was having a blonde moment. :) I've downloaded the pictures & bought a few things to scrapbook your trip. Having trouble finding Vietnam things - maybe Barbara has had some luck. Keep us posted & let us know what's next on your agenda. Missing you terribly. -Al & Jim

Hello on January 6th in the USA, 7:52 pm.
What I am gleaning from your daily journals is that Haden is a wonderfully happy and sweet natured baby boy. Hanna is in Haden Heaven with her little brother and Mom and Dad are just busting with joy. Blessings are abundant. Can't wait to read tomorrow's post and see Hanna in her native attire serving tea. Will check back in the morning. By the way, Aunt Sylvia's and my haircut turned out great. Neither one of us knew a thing about cutting hair, but it is just hair afterall and it will grow, right?
Love, good wishes and prayers to all of you, Graunty Vivi

Hey Jeff, Dedra, Hanna and Haden - we didn't think any of your family or friends (Dallas Fans) would tell you, but there is no need to rush home to watch football. Your Cowboys lost last night in the last few seconds of the Wild Card Playoff game. (Final score 21-20). If you taped it, Donald said you really don't want to watch it. Otherwise, we hope things are going well and can't wait to see more pictures. I hope everyone is doing well and we look forward to seeing you all soon.

Tell Hanna, Lauren had a tea party in the bath tub last night in honor of her. She gave Buster a cup of tea to celebrate too.
Thanks Brewers for giving Jeff and Dedra the news on the game. As you can guess Jeff, there is much to read about in this mornings sports section.
Enjoy the sites and we look forward to your return. Love and prayers.

This is Jerry again.

We love the pictures. Hanna and Haden both look awesome.

It looks like ya'll can't stop smiling.

Jeff - I'm bummed about the Cowboys too. Oh, well. Next year!!!

If there's anything ya'll need let us know.

I have some good friends that recently moved to Bangkok, Thailand, and they have a spare bedroom, I know ya'll could use, if needed.

Why can't ya'll just get on a plane to Mexico and then drive across?

I just wanted to check in before I start trying to get the living room cleaned. We went last night and bought a tv as we are both real tired of trying to see the 27".It's harder for me to watch then Denman because of my eyes.We bought a Mitshibichi rear projection. We started looking at Best Buy and couldn't get any one to wait on us.So we left and went to Sears and they had the same thing for the same price,so we bought it from Sears. It's suppose to be delivered sometime Tuesday afternoon.
Hope things are still going smoothly and your health is good.Still waiting to see my Grand-children in their new atire.
Hanna Grandma can't wait to get to NC to have her first offical TEA PARTY with you.Stay sweet and kiss your little brother for us.

Hi guys! Trish gave me the site on Friday when she came in to do Bible verses. The kids and I had a great time looking at all the pictures of Hanna and Haden! We talked about how we had been praying for him before he had even been born. (and I had to ask Sam to do our prayer Friday morning because I was just too choked up- he said a beautiful prayer for your family!) Tell Hanna we miss her, but I am so glad she's there. This is and experience she'll never forget. I wish I had made one of her assignments to keep a daily journal of her experiences! Of course, I think her Dad is going to get a pretty good grade in that area for keeping us informed! Haden is even more beautiful than his first picture. Your family is truly blessed. God certaily had a plan for your family. We can't wait to see him, and all of you.
We are still praying for you daily!
