We have made it to Hong Kong!!!
We just landed in Hong Kong after a 15 1/2 hour flight from LAX. We are on the ground. The trip was fine and the service that Cathay Pacific provided was excellent! We were on a 747 and every seat was full. The highlight of the trip so far was me jumping up during our landing to run for the restroom. I am sure all my parents are laughing right now. I have had a history of motion sickness and I believe that at one time or another I threw up in every car that they owned. Well today it got me again.
Our flight took us over Alaska and across into Asia. It was quicker to go north and then back down than to fly straight across the Pacific. We now have a 6 hour layover and then on to Hanoi. Hanna and Dedra did great on the trip. I am not used to sitting for more than a couple of hours and did not fare as well. It is Sunday the 31st here.
Pray for me, PLEASE!!!!

It is hard to believe that you are already in Hong Kong. I have been checking every few hours because I knew there would eventually be news.
So sorry about the motion sickness...Kayla certainly understands what you mean! Hopefully the remainder will be much easier for you. We will just add that to the prayers that are being spoken for all of you.
Maybe by the time you read this you will already be in Saigon. I need to brush up on international time so I can figure out what time it is in Vietnam.
We are all so glad we can stay in touch...thanks for sharing your journey to get Haden with all of us!
Love and Godspeed
OOPS!
I got my geography messed up-I hope you do not land in Saigon since you are supposed to land in Hanoi....it should surprise no one that I was going to the wrong city!
Be glad I am not your pilot....
As we write you are sitting at the airport in Hong Kong. It is 1pm there and time to eat lunch but you think it's night and time to go to bed. At least the flight to Hanoi is only a couple of hours. Hope you don't fall asleep and miss it. Somehow we aren't laughing because you are sick. In fact, I feel like crying. Dad is making some remark about Elfwiches..... Now may the peace of God, which suprpasses all understanding guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Phil. 4:7
Good Morning, It's 9:30am in Houston and 10:30 pm where you are. Hopefully you made it to Hanoi without futher incident. Guess you guys are ready for breakfast. They do have a McDonald's and a Highlands Coffee (like our Starbucks). Anyway, hope you are feeling better. We're eager to hear when you get to Danang. Can't wait to see pictures of Haden & Hanna..
just hang in there in a little while you'll have your baby boy. well anyways keep flying on angel wings. love yall, destrianna : )
Well, at least Hanna and Dedra didn't have any problems sleeping!! (Which we knew that would not be a problem at all for Dedra!!) We are relieved that the longest part of your flight is over. Hopefully now you are in Hanoi. Kayla enjoys seeing the pictures of Hanna please keep sending them. Jeff, we will pray that it is the Lord's will that while you are traveling, your motion sickness will go away. We look forward to the next update and we continue to praise God for each successful step of your journey.
Love,
Donald, Jennifer & Kayla
PS: Donald said to tell you they have killed 10 deer (7 bucks) doing drives!!!! He wished you could have been there.
Dedra can sleep anywhere, anytime!
If you get sick on the next flight ask for ginger ale. It really helps. This is the voice of experience. Besides.... they showed it on mythbusters.
