Our Adoption Journey

Saturday, January 13, 2007

I just got off the phone with Dedra and she is safe and secure. The two of them have spent the last 12 hours at the International SOS clinic in Hanoi, where Haden has been treated for the early stages of pneumonia. They have given him an IV to try to keep him from getting dehydrated, because he was not eating. Please pray for all of us! Dedra was able to get onto the blog at the hospital and read some of your responses so keep it up. It looks like they are going to keep him on the IV until they can give him the second dose of antibiotics. All thoughts of them traveling before Wednesday have been put aside. Dedra's focus will be on getting him stabilized and the doctors there feel like they have had good response to the meds from other babies who have been fighting this same sequence of symptoms. Hanna and I went to sleep at 7pm tonight after a very long day. We will get up and go to church in the morning which will be nice.

Please join me in praying for protection for Dedra and Haden. I am also praying for insight for the doctors so that they can isolate the problems and get him the proper medicine so this does not get worse. Finally I am asking that His will be done in this. Dedra is incredibly strong in her faith and that will be seen by others there at the clinic and by the families that have sick children. I pray that her faith will spill over on someone and touch and change there life forever. Some good will come from this situation, I leave it in Gods much bigger hands!

Jeff thanks for the other phone number. I finally used MCI and they did not have a problem charging the call to my home phone through Windstream. So If any one ever needs to make an Internt'l call and your phone company does not handle them, use MCI they know what they are doing.I tried 3 others because our operater ask if you have a prefrence and if not they put you with the first one that is suppose to handle Internt'l. calls and not all of them know what they are doing.I gave them the information and they said I was dialing it right they never offered to get an internt'l operatetor.ha Were talking Ma Bell here folks!!!!!! and I had never heard of the other companies.

Any how, I called the SOS clinic and talked to Dedra. She is doing good and Haden is doing a little better. She said she had even gotten a little smile from him. He is still not eating but hope that will come around after it isn't so hard for him to breath. He is on IV fluids for one antibiotic and to rehydrate him as he was starting to get a little dehydrated.he is also getting one by mouth plus breathing treatments to break up the congestion.

Dedra said he is not having to labor as hard to breath now so God has got him on the mend. With all of the friends ,family and prayers and God on our side we are truly blessed.

Please keep posting to the Blog as I am printing every thing that is posted to make a book for them to keep and read as they all get back to normal and have time to reflect back on this Jorney.

Now that I have heard her voice and the tone of it I know that she is okay. She just needs Gods will to be done as we all need.

She will try to keep us posted as to what is happening.

Love to all

Oh yes I have tried to figure out where time everyone post comes from. Every time you post it shows at the end of the post when it was posted. The time is neither Viet Nam,NC or TX time so where is it from,Mars?

Dedra
God knew that precious Haden would need more medical care.....more than he would have been able to get in flight.....thus no airline tickets. I know you are totally involved in your son's care and now time will pass more quickly as you watch Haden improve each hour.
You are both surrounded in our prayers and love.
Continued love and Godspeed

God sits high and looks low at his precious children. He knows the plan and steps to take. Praise God that baby was not able to get on the plane as he continued to get worse. We want him smiling amd feeling great as he gets off that plane into the USA!!!

It is so amazing to watch God work. It's even more amazing to see how and when God answers our prayers. His word stands true, our prayers will be answered according to his will and in his time, not ours. God is most definitely in control of this journey and will continue to be throughout.

We have been praying that Dedra and Haden get a flight out as soon as possible as well as for Haden's health to improve. God was showing us that Haden needed to improve before he was placed on a flight home, therefore Dedra was unable to obtain a ticket. This just continues to show us how mighty our God is and how we need to continue to have faith in him during this journey that everything is according to his will, not ours.

We will continue to pray for Haden's health to improve as well as for you safe return. Stay strong in the Lord and with your faith, and we will see you all soon.

Love,
Donald, Jennifer & Kayla

We got in from church and ran upstairs to see if there was any new information on Dedra and Haden.
Dedra,we are glad to hear you are getting to read the messages and to know how many prayers are being said for you, Haden, and the other families there.
As the song says "just let your little light shine" and it may be that there are people there that God has you on assignment for. The light shines brighter in life's valleys where there is darkness then when we are on the mountain tops.
We are proud of all of you and we have been very blessed by you and you are a blessing to others in a world that needs to see faith in action.
Lisa said to tell you the best Birthday gift she will get is to know you will be coming home soon.

Jeff thank you for keeping us informed. I did talk to Dedra Last night after you emailed me the phone number you had gotten from her. She did sound tired. Dedra you need to get as much rest as you can and eat right so your body doesn't get in a run down state.

Hanna I know you have got to missing your Mommy and Haden but there is a reason for Haden getting sick over there. Just keep praying and God will bring them both home safe and sound.

I'll try to call you one day this week. I can't wait to here what all you did in Vietnam and every thing you got. I sure wish I lived closer so you could stay with me until Mommy gets home. We could sew your little brother something for when he gets home.

Well I guess I had better sign off for now and get in bed. I have to appts. tommorow and the first one is in FT. Worth at 9:00.I'm hoping the roads will be passable and the traffic light.

Dedra keep in touch and let me know how Haden is doing or I just might have to make another Internt'l call now that I know what company to use.haha I just might be changing my long distance service now to MCI. I just hope I don't have to call again. They called the house this morning to verify that the call had been made from the owner of our #.I told them yes and I didn't know if I would have to make anymore or not. So she said she would leave the order open and call me again Monday. Good night and Jeff kisses and hugs for Hanna and Dedra kisses and hugs for Haden from Poppy and Grandma. Okay kisses, prayers and hugs for you and Jeff too.

Love and Miss You Guys
